Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana – 13 November 2016

MotoGP

With his last ride for Yamaha before moving to Ducati Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) rode superbly to win by leading from start to finish. Second place went to World Champion Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) who recovered after a poor start with third spot going to Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) who rode in pain but won his battle with Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) who finished fourth.

In fifth place was Maverick Vinales (Team SUZUKI ECSTAR) with Pol Espargaro (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) passing Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) at the end of the race to take sixth place.

Moto2

After an exciting first half of the race which saw the lead change many times between Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) and Franco Morbidelli (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) the win eventually went to Zarco who pulled away in the latter stages of the race with second place going to Thomas Luthi (Garage Plus Interwetten) who passed Morbidelli late in the race leaving Morbidelli to take third spot after he suffered grip problems.

In fourth place was Sam Lowes (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) who caught and passed Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) late in the race with Rins taking fifth spot ahead of a fast finishing Takaaki Nakagami (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia) in sixth.

Moto3

In what was probably one of the best rides of his career Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) took victory after suffering a technical problem on the second lap which dropped him from second to twenty-second spot but then fought back to ride through the field to a stunning win. Second place went to Rookie of the Year Joan Mir (Leopard Racing) with another rookie, Andrea Migno (SKY Racing Team VR46) third.

In fourth place was Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Moto3) ahead of his team-mate Fabio DiGiannantonio (Gresini Racing Moto3) in fifth and Juanfran Guevara (RBA Racing Team) sixth.

MotoGP

Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) demolished the pole record by more than 0.6 seconds to take the last pole of the season and his final pole for Yamaha before he moves to Ducati for 2017. In second place, also within the previous pole record, will be Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) with third spot going to Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP).

Heading the second row will be Maverick Vinales (Team SUZUKI ECSTAR) ahead of Sepang winner Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) in fifth and Pol Espargaro (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) in sixth.

World Champion Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) took his final pole in Moto2 before heading to MotoGP in 2017 by just 0.006 seconds ahead of Thomas Luthi (Garage Plus Interwetten) with Franco Morbidelli (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) completing the front row only another 0.048 seconds back from Luthi in third spot.

Starting from fourth place will be Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team) with Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) in fifth ahead of Julian Simon (QMMF Racing Team) in sixth.

Aron Canet (Estrella Galicia 0,0) took his first ever pole in a last ditch effort to edge out new World Champion Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) who will start from second place with Hiroki Ono (Honda Team Asia) an impressive third.

Fourth place starter will be Nicolo Bulega (SKY Racing Team VR46) with Juanfran Guevara (RBA Racing Team) in fifth ahead of Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold)sixth.
