MotoGP

Jorge is flying!

Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) took his second pole of the season and in the process destroyed the lap record. Second spot on the starting grid went to reigning World Champion Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) with current Championship leader Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) third.

Heading the second row of the grid in fourth place will be Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) with Bradley Smith (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) with his best qualifying of the season in fifth ahead of Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) in sixth.

Moto2

Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) broke the pole lap record to take his fifth pole of the season finishing ahead of reigning World Champion Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS ) who took second spot ahead of previous race winner Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) in third.

Fourth place went to Sandro Cortese (Dynavolt Intact GP) with Thomas Luthi (Derendinger Racing Interwetten) in fifth and Dominique Aegerter (Technomag Racing Intrewetten) sixth

Moto3

Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold) took his first pole of the season with a time that was slower than Danny Kent’s (Leopard Racing) fastest time in FP3. This was due to higher temperatures during qualifying providing less grip on the track surface. Second place went to Kent with Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0) making it an all Honda front row in third.

In fourth place was Fabio Quartararo (Estrella Galicia 0,0) with Alexis Masbou (SAXOPRINT RTG) in fifth and Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) sixth.

Less than one second separated the top eighteen qualifiers.

MotoGP

 

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) made it five wins out of five in America by taking victory after a race long battle with Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) who finished second after leading for most of the race. In an equally thrilling race for third spot Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) eventually prevailed over Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) with Rossi keeping up his record of finishing on the podium in every race this season and thus maintaining his Championship lead.

 

Fourth place went to Dani Pedrosa with fifth going to Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) who held off Bradley Smith (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) who finished sixth.

Moto2

 

Moto2 rookie Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) took his first Moto2 victory in an exciting race in which, at one stage half a dozen riders were fighting for the lead. In the end Rins took the victory with Championship leader Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) in second and Franco Morbidelli (Italtrans Racing Team) taking third for his first ever Moto2 podium.

 

Fourth spot went to Dominique Aegerter (Technomag Racing Interwetten) with current Moto2 World Champion Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) fifth and Thomas Luthi (Derendinger Racing Interwetten) sixth.

Moto3

 

In a race declared a wet race and totally dictated by the weather an unlikely maiden victory went to Livio Lio(RW Racing GP) who decided to change to slick tyres and was the only rider to do so who was able to start the race from his original grid position. All other riders who changed to slicks had either to start the race from pit lane or had to pit to change tyres.

 

In second place was John McPhee (SAXOPRINT RTG) with third going to Philipp Oettl (Schedl GP Racing) both of whom changed to slicks before the race start and had to start the race from pit lane.

 

In fourth place was Romano Fenati (SKY Racing Team VR46) with fifth going to Isaac Vinales (RBA Racing Team) and sixth to Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Team Moto3). Championship leader Danny Kent (Leopard Racing) was caught out by the conditions and finished the race in twenty-first position.

Qualifying Practice – 8 August 2015

Pole position went to Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) making it a Honda 1 and2 with Marquez’s team mate Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) qualifying second. Finishing off the front row of the starting grid in third spot will be Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha).

Cal Crutchlow (CWM LCR Honda) will head the second row of the starting grid in fourth place with an impressive Danilo Petrucci (Octo Pramac Racing) in fifth and Bradley Smith (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) sixth.

Championship leader Valentino Rossi qualified in eighth spot.

Moto2

Top spot on the starting grid went to Moto 2 rookie Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40), his second of the season. Reigning Moto2 World Champion Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS)  qualified second ahead of Miko Kallio (Italtrans Racing Team) in third.

Fourth spot went to Thomas Luthi (Derendinger Racing Interwetten) with Jonas Folger (AGR Team) in fifth and Takaaki Nakagami (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia) sixth.

Championship leader Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) qualified eighth in a field where the first eighteen qualified within one second.

Moto3 Championship leader Danny Kent ( Leopard Racing) took his fourth pole of the season with the fastest ever Moto3 lap of the Indianapolis circuit. Second spot on the grid went to Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo ) with Zulfahmi Khairuddin (Drive M7 SIC ) a surprising third.

Heading the second row of the grid in fourth will be Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Team Moto3 ) with rookie Fabio Quartararo (Estrella Galicia 0,0 ) in fifth and  sixth (Red Bull KTM Ajo).
