After a 20 lap stalking by Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda), Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) won the last 6 lap battle after being forced off the track on the last chicane by an aggressive overtaking move of Marquez which caused Rossi to run off straight through the gravel onto the start/finish straight and cross the finish line ahead of Marquez.

The win extended Rossi’s lead in the World Championship to 10 points ahead of Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP), who finished third.

Fourth place went to Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) who had another good ride with Pol Espargaro (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) fifth and Cal Crutchlow (CWM LCR Honda) sixth.

Moto2

In a race that was restarted and shortened to 16 laps due to a red flag Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport Kalex) came out on top in a head-to-head with Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Kalex) which saw Zarco, after a poor start, catch and pass current World Champion Rabat to take his third win of the season leaving Rabat to take second place with Sam Lowes (Speed Up Racing) third.

Fourth spot went to Moto2 rookie Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40 Kalex) who finished ahead of Thomas Luthi (Derendinger Racing Interwetten Kalex) in fifth and Xavier Simeon (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 Kalex) sixth.

Moto3

In a race where any one of six riders had a chance of winning,  victory finally went to Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) with Moto3 rookie, Fabio Quartararo (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda) second and Championship leader Danny Kent (Leopard Racing Honda) third, all three crossing the finish line within 0.117s.

Fourth place went to Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda) with Romano Fenati (Sky Racing Team VR46 KTM) fifth and pole sitter Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Team Moto3 Honda) sixth.

Qualifying Results – 26 June 2015

MotoGP

 

Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) took the 61st pole of his career with a record breaking lap, beating Casey Stoner’s previous qualifying lap record from 2012 by over one second. Second spot on the starting grid went to Q1 qualifier Aleix Espargaro (Team Suzuki Ecstar) with reigning World Champion Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) third.

 

On the second row of the starting grid in fourth place will be Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) with Pol Espargaro (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) in fifth and Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) sixth.

 

Jorge Lorenzo (Monster Yamaha MotoGP) qualified eighth in a starting grid where the top 12 qualifiers are covered by just over 0.6 second.

In a dominant display current Moto2 Championship leader Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport Kalex) smashed Marc Marquez’s 2012 qualifying record by over 0.7 second to claim pole ahead of reigning Moto2 World Champion Tito Rabat  Marc VDS Kalex) in second and Sam Lowes (Speed UP Racing)in third.

 

Fourth spot went to Simone Corsi (Athina Forwaed racing Kalex) with Jonas Folger (AGR Team Kalex) in fifth and Xavier Simeon (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 Kalex)sixth.

Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Team Moto3 Honda) took his second successive pole with a new qualifying lap record. Second place on the starting grid went to Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda) with Karel Hanika (Red Bull KTM Ajo) third.

 

Heading the second row of the starting grid will be current Moto3 Championship leader Danny Kent (Leopard Racing Honda)with Isaac Vinales (Husqvarna Factory Laglisse) fifth and Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) sixth.

Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) took his fourth consecutive win of the season thus closing to within one point of Championship leader Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) who finished second just under one second behind Lorenzo. World Champion Marc Marquez’s (Repsol Honda) Championship defence appears to be in tatters after he crashed out on lap 3 when braking into turn 10. Marquez’s team mate, Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) rode a steady race to finish third.

Fourth place went to Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) after a battle with Bradley Smith (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) who finished fifth. Pole sitter Aleix Espargaro (Team Suzuki Ecstar), after a poor star made his way up to fourth spot before he also crashed out while his team mate Maverick Vinales (Team Suzuki Ecstar), who also started poorly eventually finished sixth.

After being forced wide on the first corner of the first lap of the race Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport Kalex) fought back magnificently to take the win on the final lap of the race when he overtook race leader Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Kalex) at turn 5. In an effort to retake the lead Rabat ran wide in turn 10 allowing Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40 Kalex) through to to take second place, Rabat eventually finishing third.

Fourth place went to Sam Lowes (Speed Up Racing) with Luis Salom (Paginas Amarillas HP 40 Kalex) in fifth and Thomas Luthi (Derendinger Racing Interewetten Kalex) sixth.

Danny Kent (Leopard Racing Honda) took his fourth win of the season in an exciting last lap win beating his Championship rival and pole sitter Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Team Moto3 Honda) over the line  by just 0.035s. Kent’s team mate Efren Vazquez (Leopard Racing Honda) completed the podium in third.

Fourth spot went to Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold Honda) with Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) fifth and Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda) sixth. Less than one second covered the first six riders.

Suzuki took its first pole since Chris Vermeulen in Assen 2007 when Aleix Espargaro(Team Suzuki Ecstar) broke the Catalunya circuit lap record to take pole by just 0.083 second ahead of his team mate Maverick Vinales (Team Suzuki Ecstar). Third place on the starting grid went to Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP).

Championship leader, Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) continued his ordinary qualifying with seventh place while current World Champion, Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) still appears to be struggling with a fourth place start with his team mate, Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda)in sixth.

The top Ducati qualifier was Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) in fifth.

Pole went to Moto2 Championship leader Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport Kalex) who smashed the Moto2 circuit lap record to take his second pole of the season. Second spot went to Jonas Folger (AGR Team Kalex) with the last on the front row of the starting grid going to reigning Moto2 World Champion Tito Rabat (Estrelle Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Kalex).

Fourth place went to Dominic Aegerter (Technomag Racing Interwetten Kalex) with Sam Lowes (Speed Up Racing) in fifth and Louis Salom (Paginas Amarillas HP 40 Kalex) sixth.

Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Team Moto3 Honda) took his first ever pole with the fastest ever Moto3 lap of the Barcelona circuit. Second place went to the Moto3 Championship leader Danny Kent (Leopard Racing Honda) with Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda) completing the front row of the starting grid.

Heading the second row will be Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold Honda) in fourth with last race winner Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) in fifth and Efren Vazquez (Leopard Racing Honda) sixth.
