MotoGP

In an exciting race Championship leader Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha) eventually caught and passed Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda), who led the race by over 4 seconds at one stage, resulting in a collision between the two which caused Marquez to crash out of the race with 2 laps to go. Second place for the third race in a row went to Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) who stuck with Rossi for most of the race.

 

Third spot went to Cal Crutchlow (CWM LCR Honda) who passed Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) on the last corner of the race leaving the Italian in fourth. Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha) finished fifth with Bradley Smith (Monster Yamaha Tech3) sixth.

MotoGP rookie Jack Miller (CWM LCR Honda) was the first Open Class rider home in 12th.

Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) took his first Moto2 win after comfortably leading for most of the race. Second place went to Moto2 rookie Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) who overtook Sam Lowes (Speed Up Racing) with a couple of laps to go leaving Lowes to claim third Spot.

 

In fourth was Mika Kallio (Italtrans Racing Team) who finished ahead of his team mate Franco Morbidelli (Italtrans Racing Team) in fifth with Thomas Luthi (Derendinger Racing Interwetten) sixth.

 

Reigning Moto2 World Champion Tito Rabat ran off the track early in the race and recovered to finish in 11th place.

Danny Kent (Leopard Racing) took his second runaway on the trot with the biggest ever winning margine in a Moto3 race of over 10 seconds. Second was Kent’s team mate Efren Vazquez (Leopard Racing) with Isaac Vinales (Husqvarna Factory Laglisse) third.

 

Fourth spot went to pole getter Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) who finished ahead of his team mate Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) in fifth with Moto3 rookie Fabio Quartararo (Estrella Galicia 0,0) sixth.

MotoGP

Reigning World Champion Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) took pole position by 0.5 second from Aleix Espargaro (Suzuki Ecstar) with Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) in third.

Heading the second row of the starting grid will be Cal Crutchlow (CWM LCR Honda) with Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha) in fifth and Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) sixth.

Current Championship leader Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha) will start tomorrow’s race from eighth spot on the grid.

Fourth place went to Sam Lowes (Speed Up Racing), his first non front row start of 2015 with Moto2 rookie and current Championship leader Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40 Kalex) in fifth andJonas Folger (AGR Team Kalex) sixth.

Moto3

After dominating practice Danny Kent (Leopard Racing Honda) was beaten into second spot on the starting grid by a late effort from Miguel Olveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) who broke Kent’s lap record set earlier in free practice. Third and last place on the front row of the starting grid went to Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold Honda).

In fourth spot was Efren Vazquez (Leoperd racing Honda) with Isaac Vinales (Husqvarna Factory Leglisse) in fifth and Karel Hanika (Red Bull KTM Ajo) sixth.

After taking the lead on lap 5 Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) took control of the race to win by over 2 seconds after leading the race by 5 seconds at one stage. Second, after a race long battle with Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha) was Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) with Rossi third.

In a late surge Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha) took fourth from fifth placed Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) with Bradley Smith (Monster Yamaha Tech3) taking sixth.

The first Suzuki home was Aleix Espargaro in eigth while the leading Aprilia was Alvaro Bautista in fifteenth.

After three crashes during practice Sam Lowes (Speed Up Racing) battled through pain to win his maiden Moto2 race, the first GP win for the former Supersport World Champion. After leading for much of the race second place went to Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) who clashed with Xavier Simeon (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) in the latter stages of the race causing Simeon to crash and creating a break for Lowes which he capitalised on.

Third place went to Moto2 rookie Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) with current Moto2 World Champion Esteve Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) in fouth ahead of Franco Morbidelli (Italtrans Racing Team) in fifth and Hafizh Syahrin (Petronas racing Malaysia) in sixth.

Danny Kent (Leopard Racing) took the third Moto3 win of his career  after taking the lead on the 4th lap and breaking away for an unchallenged, easy victory. In second place was Moto3 rookie, 15 year old Fabio Quartararo (Estrella Galicia 0,0) with Kent’s team mate Efren Vazquez (Leopard Racing) third.

Fourth spot went to Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Team Moto3) with Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) fifth and John McPhee (Saxoprint RTG) in sixth.

Qualifying Practice – 11 April 2015

MotoGP

Marc Marquez took pole on his second bike after his first bike broke down with just over 3 minutes to go of Q2. His qualifying time of 2’02.135 was the fastest ever two wheel  lap of the Circuit of the Americas.

Second spot went to Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) with Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) third.

Last round winner, Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) will head the second row of the starting grid in fourth with Cal Crutchlow (CWM LCR Honda) in fifth and Scott Redding (EG 0,0 Marc VDS Honda) in sixth.

Pole position went to Xavier Simeon (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 Kalex), his second in the Moto2 class. Second spot went to Sam Lowes (Speed Up Racing) with reigning World Moto2 Champion, Esteve rabat in third.

Fourth on the starting grid and heading the second row will be Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport Kalex) who was unlucky not to take victory in Qatar because of mechanical problems with his bike, with Franco Morbidelli (Italtrans Racing Team Kalex) in fifth and Takaaki Nakagami (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia Kalex) in sixth.

Moto3

Danny Kent’s (Leopard Racing Honda)pole time was the fastest Moto3 lap ever for the American circuit beating last year’s pole time by almost 1 second. In second place was Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) with Andrea Locatelli ( Gresini Racing Team Moto3) in third.

Fourth spot went to Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold Honda) with fifth going to Jorge Navarro (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda) and Moto3 rookie Fabio Quartararo (Estrella Galicia 0,0) in sixth.

After a superb battle with Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha) emerged as the winner in this epic race which for most of the time also included Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha) and Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team). 36 year old Rossi said it was one of the best races of his career, but it also showed the re-emergence of Ducati as a force to be reckoned with for the 2015 MotoGP season with Andrea Iannone finishing third ahead of Jorge Lorenzo in fourth.

The Repsol Honda pairing of Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa finished fifth and sixth respectively after reigning World Champion Marquez ran wide on the first corner of the first lap ending up at the rear of the field.

The first Suzuki to finish was Aleix Espargaro in eleventh with Marc Melandri the only factory Aprilia to complete the race in 21st.

Moto2

 

In a dramatic race victory went to Jonas Folger (AGR Team Kalex) who inherited the lead after Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport Kalex), who was leading the race by 4 seconds struck problems when his gear lever broke on lap 17 and lost seven places eventually finishing 8th. Second spot went to Xavier Simeon (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 Kalex) with Thomas Luthi (Derendinger Racing Interwetten Kalex) finishing third ahead of a fast finishing Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP40 Kalex).

Pole sitter Sam Lowes (Speed Up Racing) crashed while lying in second spot when a false neutral caused him to go off line on a corner, while reigning Moto2 World Champion Esteve Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Kalex) also crashed when Simone Corsi (Althina Forward racing Kalex) cut across his line and took out his front wheel.

Pole sitter Alexis Masbou (Saxoprint RTG Honda) took out a thrilling race in which the first nine riders crossed the finishing line less than 1 second apart. Second place went to Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Team Moto3 Honda), who started 21st on the grid, with Danny Kent (Leopard Racing Honda) in third.

One of the pre- race favourites, Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) crashed on the first corner of the first lap after coming into contact with Francesco Bagnaia (Mapfre Team Mahindra) while rookie sensation Fabio Quartararo (Estrella Gallicia 0,0 Honda) finished seventh.
