Circuit of the Americas Qualifying

MotoGP

Honda has dominated qualifying for the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas MotoGP round. Spain’s reigning MotoGP World Champion, Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) qualified on pole with the fastest ever lap of the circuit (2’02.773 – 161.6 km/h) followed by Spanish teammate Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda),while third went to Germany’s Stefan Bradl (LCR Honda).

The highest placed Yamaha was the Open Class Forward Yamaha of Aleix Espargaro (SPA) in fourth place while the factory Movistar Yamahas of Jorge Lorenzo (SPA) and Valentino Rossi (ITA) were fifth and sixth respectively.

Cal Crutchlow  (GBR)was the highest placed Ducati in seventh place.

Moto2

Spain’s Esteve Rabat (Marc VDS Racing Team – Kalex) was the polegetter  in Moto2 with the fastest ever Moto2 lap of the circuit (2’10.135 – 152.5 km/h). Second was Germany’s Johann Zarco  (AirAsia  Caterham –  Suter) followed in third by Switzerland’s Dominique Aegerter (Technomag CarXpert – Suter).

Moto3

After getting his first ever podium finish by winning the previous round in Qatar Australian Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Ajo) continued his good form by taking the Moto3 pole in a time of 2’16.342, the fastest ever Moto3 lap of the circuit. He was followed in second place by Spain’s Efren Vasquez (SaxoPrint-RTG Honda) and third place was taken by Spain’s Alex Rins (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Honda).
